i want to buy a consumer (flash memory or hard drive based) hd video camera that uses file formats premiere pro cs3 supports natively. i have a canon vixia camera but it uses .mts which cs3 does not support. i have to use sony vegas and i hate sony vegas. i can't find what file formats they use on the manufacturer's websites. i don't have time to transcode all my video so i can use the editing software i like. i also don't have time to shoot four hours of video and wait four hours to capture all of it from a tape camera. i can't afford to upgrade to cs4 either. i guess i am really stuck.
canon has always been my favorite video cameras but i am open to jvc, panasonic, sony, etc.
anyone with suggestions?
CS3 does not support flash or hard drive. Your only option is to upgrade to CS4 and you can keep the camera. MTS is natively supported in CS4, but you will need a QuadCore to get the job done.
