I've just managed to obtain the original codes for our software. I don't have much experience with Director but do have the program. All I need to do is make a few small changes to the preferences file and then repackage everything for distribution... I'm just a little confused how to go about doing so as there are so many files other than the original ".dir" file. For example, there are folders named "Xtras", "Installers", "Program" etc. ... and also files called "stub", "stubEngine" among others.
Is there a particular process I have to follow to repackage it all back into an .exe? i.e do I need to import all the extra files within Director or should they be automatically called when it comes to exporting?
Sorry if I made no sense!
It's common when creating a projector to create a stub projector. This is a starup executable that is used to launch your application but stay as compact and as small in size as possible. I have information on stub projectors and the process of creating them (including packaging Xtras) at:
Hope that helps.
