Directly from Flex, if it's a web app that target the FP runtime no way
perhaps i don't give enough precision about the context.
Flex will be used to build the presentation-layer of the webapplication, there's another information you need to know, the user will not use a login screnn for authentication, it will be done automaticily once the user plug his personal smart card into a "smart card reader".
The challenge is : i have to find a way to read data from the "smart card" and if the information are ok, the user will be rediercted to the application main screen.
i hope now, you have all the picture, and can send me a answer.
The way we do this is...
The main flex app communicates with a DotNet app running at the same time using LocalConnection. (We use FluorineFX to kick off the DotNet app)
The DotNet app monitors the status of the smart card and messages the main flex app with changes (card removed / entered, etc).
You can then use these event to authenticate the user.
i see, thank you for your answer.
last question, you outline "FluorineFX", i understand it's un kind of bridge to invoke .NET application, i am wondering if there is other solution for java, or native "exe" application.
