Simple way to convert material, that is not suited for PR, to an editable albeit far from optimal format. Thanks for sharing.
I am using my files as learning tools, so optimal is not essential. You see, it is one thing to watch a lesson, another to repeat the lesson with one's own material, inferior though it might be.
You know of course that great minds have always survived any kind of bad training.
Glad that the .WMV files worked for you. Depending on the file's CODEC, they do not always behave so nicely in PrPro, or PrElements.
If you do start having any problems with the WMM output .WMV's (and not saying that you will), you might think about doing the Export from WMM as DV-AVI. At least up to the version of WMM, that shipped with XP, these files were DV-AVI Type I (not Type II). Some people have a few OOS (Out Of Sync) issues when Importing Type I's.
PS I'd *guess* that PrPro CS5 will work a bit better with the files from the Nikon D-90 and the Canon 5D MKII. Only a guess though.
Many thanks, guys. Now I can use my stuff to practice with. You see, it's one thing to have practice files that Adobe and/or Lynda et al provides you with, another to have your own with its own set of built-in problems.
Lotsa luck and see you around,
