    Canon's Website Comparison Feature

Has anybody noticed this? If you go to Canon's website pages for either consumer or professional camcorders they have a very handy feature now that lets you do side by side comparisons of the various models. You first click on either two or three that you want to compare, and then hit the Compare Now button, and it brings up a three column chart in a new window showing a complete feature set side by side. It also has their other cams to the lower left and you can just drag the photo of another cam up to replace any one of the three and its features will show up right under it instantly. Considering they have 28 different comsumer cams listed now, some high-def, some standard, some tape based, some hard drive, and some flash drive, this chart is really handy. I hope it catches on with other manufacturers. They ought to get some kind of web site of the year award for this one.

I've seen similar on other sites, but do not recall it on the Canon site. However, I'm usually going there to find some poster's camera to see what its specs are.

I encounter same on more software sites, where there are various levels of a program, "Silver, Gold" and "Platinum," for instance. Still, as you say, with so many cameras to choose from, it's good to see the features of the chosen ones, side-by-side.

          Thanks for pointing this out,
