That is correct. Acrobat/Reader 9 have moved the status icon from the field to the status pane (and the message bar) due to security concerns related to "status forging". There is no way to change this.
I am downloading Acrobat 9 Professional and I will check it once.
But one of client is claiming that he is signing the PDF file using Adobe Acrobat 9 and able to see the signature status icon in the signature field. So just to confirm, Is it possible in any way?
I found one document which is saying that there is one registry entry with which we can achieve the above thing
see the following link for that document :
Check page no.11,first paragraph. As mentioned there , I read Security Administration Guide document but didn't get any clue.
Please help it's very urgent .
The registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Security\cDigSig\bSigAPStatusIconDisable should be set to 0 for bringing the icon back.
I also faced a situation where this key was accidentally set to 1 and all the signature icons were disabled.
I have Adobe Reader 9.0 installed. I have created the given registry entry but didn't work for me.
Still not showing signature status icon.
The key is meant for only Acrobat Professional or Standard and not for Reader.
For Reader, maybe you can try a Repair of Adobe Reader. If this doesn't work, then, try to Un-install and install the same.
