If you are just trying to change the image, you can change the membernum, and maybe add a fade.
It is best to add all the images you want to use into one cast, and have them all in order.
You may want to look into using timers also, to have it change automatically.
But if you just wat the image to change when the user clicks a button, you can use this code:
(1).membernum = sprite(1).membernum + 1
on mouseUp me
(1).membernum = sprite(1).membernum - 1
Just subsitute the (1) for the sprite number you are using - if it is in sprite channel 2, use sprite(2).
There are different ways to create a slide show in Director. Some people may do it in a single frame and control images/content changes through Lingo. Another approach is to just use the Score. Create your different slides in different frame ranges, add a marker to each of these sections, and then you can create a button that jumps forward and back between markers. This approach is easiest for a beginner and requires minimal programming. My suggestion is to use this approach unless you're very familiar with Director and programming.
I have a bunch of beginner tutorials at: http://www.deansdirectortutorials.com/
I have a navigation one at: http://www.deansdirectortutorials.com/scripting/basic_markers.htm
The navigation one talks about creating markers and creating links between the markers.
Thank you for providing feedback on how to design a slideshow in Director. I am a student at the Art Institute and working diligently in learning how to use Director 11. I decided to create a web application as my final project, but cannot find information on how design an interactive web application in Director.
My web application consists of the following:
- Home Page
- Monsters Page
- Movies Page
- Video Clips Page
- Photo Gallery Page
- Contact Page
- Credit Page
I am not sure how to insert a movie clip into the “Video Clips Page”, how to design a “Photo Gallery”, how to add sound, a “Back” and “Next” button, an “On/Off” sound button, and some image animation. Is there a tutorial on any of these elements? Are you able to provide some insight? It would be kindly appreciated.
