does your imported image look faded in the ide or only when you publish a swf?
The attachment says queued whatever that means..
What is ide? If you mean in the flash project yea it's faded in there before it becomes a swf.
ide=integrated development environment = the flash program that opens after you click the flash.exe or its icon.
upload your image to a server and post a link. or try a different image format. generally, png is a good format for flash to handle, though gif and jpg work, too.
the image in flash is brighter.
i've never seen flash change the brightness of an imported image. upload your png to a server and post a link. or retry attaching it here, but that doesn't work reliably.
ok here is the picture saved from photoshop as a png... http://www.arisafukumoto.com/misc/untitled-1.png
take note that when you view this image in firefox it will display in
that washed out way.. however if you view it in any other browser it
will display the correct way
You're not, by chance, saving the photos with a color profile (say like sRGB)? Try saving them without a color profile (check your save to web settings in Photoshop). The color profile may be what's causing this.
i'm not sure how you go about saving it without a profile? i've not
been saving the picture using the save to web method just the regular
save method however when i choose the save for web method it produces
the faded look in the preview but i've tried fiddling the settings and
it remains like that.. any ideas?
when i've changed the options in the drop down called 'preview' i get
the the following results
Monitor colour = faded
Macintosh (no colour management) = faded
Windows (no colour management) = the original look
Use document profile = the original look
Hmm. Sounds like you're not even using color management which means there isn't a color profile involved. In that case you're just going to have to color-correct the image in Photoshop until you get something you like that looks good enough.
i feared that might be the case! thanks for you help anyway!
