Has your FP site already been published to the Web? If so, that means it
has probably already been spidered by the search engines, and changing your
filenames will break all of those index links, so you may want to
If not then just go ahead and change the names, then upload the newly named
files. Then you can delete the FP files.

Yes, the web site has been on-line using FP for some time. You bring up a good point about the links being broken, yet at some point I will need to update the site to DW. Thanks for your thoughtful suggestion.
Why do you need to change the extension? Just keep them with the .htm extension and there won't be a problem.

Is that for a specific reason or are you just following a DW default?
You can change the default extension in DW to .htm via Edit > Preferences
...Category: New Document, Default Extension: .htm
That sounds like a good idea to rename my .html into .htm Once I finish the rest of the site I will plan to do that. Thanks.
This is good to know how to change the preferences. Also, since I was having a difficult time it helped to post the pages where you could help me without it affecting the site that was already running in FP. This will be a non-issue once I can post the web sites in DW and forget about FP. Thank you.
