Deleting renamed .cpd file from project

Can I safely delete a renamed .cpd file from my project?  I renamed the .cpd and re-opened the project about 4 days ago and all looks good.  I'm holding on to the backup copy of the project for a bit longer just to be on the safe side.

Once you start using the new one, the old one becomes stale so yes you can delete it.
