    CP 4 Installation problem

      I installed trial version and now purchased boxed product.

      I entered the serial number and the app ran OK.

      Started it again later and PC hangs on the load screen.

      Re installed Flash player- same problem.  Uninstalled the download and fresh install from the new Product CD. Tried restarting same problem.


      Any ideas what this may be or a fix?

      Using XP pro plenty of ram and prcessor speed

          Adding to my post.  I tried the serial number in the expired trial download on my laptop which worked OK before the trial.  Same problem.  Uninstalled the app and did an install as with PC same problem loads menu screen and stops reponding.  Are there some issues with serial numbers?

          I get the green tick to say the number is OK in the sign up wizard.


          Adobe support suggested removing the Captivate 4 folder with thye prefs from the docs and settings folder. Did this and still no fix on the PC.

          On the laptop did it and no fix.  Tried a few minutes later and the app was responsive.  Tried again a few times and it hung.  Final time worked again.



          Also ran throught the KB on Adobe .com- routine for troubleshooting the system.


          PC doesn't want to know at all
