What are your Project and Export settings?
When I bring the DVD clips (mpeg) into Premiere CS3 I have to stretch the frame in the Program monitor so the two clips will be the same size
Just for clarification, do you mean that you adjust the Motion>Scale Effect on these Clips in the Effects Control Panel, or something else?
I compress it to send via email so wanted to keep it approx 5MB
Editing Mode:DV NTSC
Timebase: 29.97 frames/sec
Frame size: (720X480) 16:9
Export settings (video)
Format: Windows Media
Preset: NTSC Source to Download 256 KB
Weidth & Height: 320X240
Frame Rate: 29.97
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixel (1.0)
Decoder Complexity: Auto
Yes I did it manually in the program monitor, but it is the same as ajusting the scale in the effects (Motion - scale) control panel.
The resolution on the interview clips are 720X480 and the DVD clips are 540X426
I may have just missed it, but what is the PAR of each set of Clips?
Sorry it took me so much time. What do you mean by PAR?
PAR = Pixel Aspect Ratio. In video, the PAR will determine the "look" of the footage in the Timeline.
The PAR for the interview is 0.9 (720X480)
and the PAR for the clips added to the timeline is the same but there is a black frame all around. (the dimensions of the image is 540X428 (PAR???).
I want to make the video image fit the frame without the black frame around. I use the scale in the video effects panel, but when I export the video I get a black stripe on the top and bottom in the interview section only.
Would you have any suggestions how I could best resolve this problem?
Thought of comming back and tell how I resolved the problem:
Started a new project with 4:3 format instead of 16:9. Imported my 16:9 interviews in the new project along with the DVD clips. Solution was easier to find than I thought and the quality of DVD clips is better because I did not have to stretch them to fit the 16:9 size.
