I have the same issue with the reader.ini file. Because it's default location is the Windows My Documents path (which in this case is a syncronised folder) you constantly get sync conflicts.
We need to know how to change the behavoir of Adobe so the reader.ini is in somewhere else like C:\Docs & Set\%user%\App Data\Adobe. I'm not sure why it's not in the first place.
Can anyone from Adobe please address this?
Version of Adobe Reader?
This occurs on multiple machines with multiple versions of both reader and full Adobe Acrobat.
An example client would be:
Adobe Acrobat 9.3.0
Windows XP Pro SP3
For Adobe Acrobat use the forum for Adobe Acrobat.
It affects Adobe Reader (multiple versions) AND Adobe Acrobat Standard & Pro.
This is something people outside of this forum have reported also, it doesn't appear to be an issue specific to a version it is a behavoir in the way Adobe places a file into My Documents.
Adobe Acrobat doesn't create or use a file named reader.ini.
So in that case it must be the Adobe Reader (which is of course included in Adobe Acrobat anyway).
What I want to know is how to change the location this file is created, is this possible?
Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat are two different products.
I have never seen a file reader.ini created by Adobe Reader.
