            thanks but that doesn't seem to work when adding a descript. tage like that:

            <gallery id="1" name="nature">
            <image image_icon="22598_nature_icon_15.jpg" image="22598_nature_b_15.jpg"/>
            <image description="whatever" image_icon="22598_nature_icon_15.jpg" image="22598_nature_b_15.jpg"/>

            *I added the tag in red above, but no pictures would load then. Obviously, I was also adding the other image tags as well.

            Is there another way to add a description tag that would work correctly?

              did you change something in the actionscript that parses the xml?

                No...I don't think so....

                I've tried and tried, several different ways, and it either won't load the images or it would load, but there wasn't a description of the images.

                *Could you possibly just add a very simple description tag for each image and then I'll try again?

                I've also tried: descrip="whatever" image_icon="22598_nature_icon_15.jpg" image="22598_nature_b_15.jpg"/>

                with no anchor tag at the beginning, and this will load the images, but there's no description.

                *I really some help with this.

                Thanks,

                  if you used the encoding i gave, your images would load without problem.  of course, no description will appear in the swf unless you add code to parse the description parameter.

                  if your images don't load, you probably have a malformed xml file.  copy and paste the code from the xml file you created that uses the code i suggested.

                    *I just added the simple description tags to the first 3 image tags below. Underneath this gallery xml page is the other xml page for the main document.

                    Below is the main xml file:

                    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
                    <website>

                        <!--
                          **    Please read this information to learn how to tune your website just using this XML file.
                          **
                          **    With the help of this file you can change any text or image in the template, add new pages,
                          **    creating them on the basis of any of the existing layouts — splash page, gallery, about page,
                          **    contacts or readmore page.
                          **
                          **    It is also easy to change any sound and music in the template as everything is stored in the
                          **    form of mp3 files, to do this simply replace an mp3 file with your own.
                          **
                          **    New template engine supports events — page changeover and external URL activation. This means
                          **    that now it is possible to manage site contents more softly, activating the events or at pressing
                          **    pictures, or links in the text, or menu or any other buttons. To activate the event on pressing
                          **    the button or picture use click paramerer, in which the event name is being written - switchPage
                          **    or getURL and parameters after comma. For instance click="switchPage,5" means migration to the page
                          **    with index 5, and click="getURL,http://www.website.com,_blank" — opening of the new page in a new
                          **    window. To activate the events directly from the text, i.e. to make the links active, use HTML.
                          **    To activate a text area as a link, write for instance <a href="event:switchPage,8">PRIVACY POLICY</a>
                          **    migration to the page with index 8. If you need to open a definite readmore page, than you should
                          **    state page index number with readmore type ( type="readmore" ) as the first parameter, and as the
                          **    second parameter, after comma an index readmore block number should be stated, for instance switchPage,7,1,
                          **    under the condition that the page with index 7 possesses readmore type, and this page with readmore
                          **    block information under index 1 will open.
                          **
                          **    Events add great opportunities in template management. Create new pages, galleries and refer them from
                          **    anywhere using the events. If the given material on events appeared to be a bit complicated for you,
                          **    view the examples in the given file, this will help you to master the technique of events activating quickly.
                          **
                          **    More detailed description of opportunities and functionality of the template can be found near each section
                          **    of this file.
                          **
                          **    It is recommended to use an XML editor to make changes to this file because it’s less possible to make
                          **    an error in the markup which can cause not working website.

                        Oh well, it now displays the first image "twice" and won't load a description.

                        This code:

                        --><gallery id="1" name="nature">
                        <image image_icon="22598_nature_icon_15.jpg" image="22598_nature_b_15.jpg "/>
                        <image description="whatever" image_icon="22598_nature_icon_15.jpg" image="22598_nature_b_15.jpg"/>

                          you have that image listed twice.  so, it's going to load twice.

                          and like i said, a description won't appear in the swf unless you add code to

                          1.  parse that attribute and

                          2.  create a textfield in which to display the description and

                          3.  assign the textfield's text property  to that attribute's value.

                            Ok, but I dont know "how to do those things."

                            1.  parse that attribute and

                            2.  create a textfield in which to display the description and

                            3.  assign the textfield's text property  to that attribute's value.

                            (Can you give me an example "exactly" that would apply to the document at hand?)

                            and what would the description tag look like then for #15 image so that it wouldn't load the image twice?

                            (I need the "exact" code. I'm a little new to this.)

                              can you find the code that parses the xml in your current fla?

                              and use the xml encoding i suggested.  it's not loading the same file twice.  all i did was take your current xml file and add an attribute

                              description="..."

                              inside the image tags.

                                I don't have the fla. just the swf

                                You said:

                                description="..."

                                inside the image tags. However, when you showed me your example it wasn't inside the original image tags it was below it in its own anchor.

                                <image image_icon="22598_nature_icon_15.jpg" image="22598_nature_b_15.jpg "/>
                                <image description="whatever"/>

                                *I guess I give up. Thanks anyway, but unless I get it to work, I don't know what else to do here.

                                It seems like we could get this to work though.

                                *I've enclosed all the files here for you to look. Could you please look them over and see what you could do

                                especially with the gallery xml file? It's flash CS3

                                Thanks

                                  if you don't have the fla, you can't add a new feature to that swf.

                                  you could decompile the swf to create a fla but that might not be legal.
