What transition are you trying to apply, Kristin? Or are you trying to apply a Text Animation?
Are you in sceneline or timeline mode?
Along with Steve's questions, how are your Titles placed on the Timeline? Are they on a separate Video Track (VT) above your footage, or are they interspersed on the same VT, as your footage, i.e. between your Clips? This can make a big difference. Also, which Transitions are you attempting to apply?
I am actually attempting to put the text animation on the titles. At this point I do have my titles are on a seperate VT.
Are you by any chance using version 4 of the program?
With version 4, you couldn't apply a different Text Animation after applying one.
In fact, even in version 7, you have to select the text and click the Remove button to remove the old Text Animation before adding a new one.
Otherwise, can you be a bit more specific about what you're doing and what's not happening?
Remember, you have to select both your text and an animation in order for the Apply option to be available.
Yes, I am on Version 4. Okay, and I swear I did exactly as you mentioned earlier with no luck, but after I just now followed your directions, it worked. Thanks for that. I appreciate your help.
I am running into the problem again. The animation seems to work on some titles, and other titles I can't seem to get the apply button to turn green. The remove button doesn't work either. I do have the text selected and an animation selected. Anything you can think that I might be doing wrong?
Are these all separate titles, or are you trying to apply Text Animations to more than one text block in the same title?
Also, are your titles more than one line long? Text Animations only work on single-line text blocks.
That was it! Thank you. I had more than one line on some of the texts. thanks again for all your input on such an easy question.
