The combination which your saying here, i am working with same from last 3 years I am using Spring JDBC here, but I feel more comfort with Hibernate, as it handles transaction roll back automatically which we have to take care of in Spring ..
But with spring you will get rid of table mapping & all as in Hibernate.

Im also going to use hibernate with spring too.. but i couldnt fail to tell u about the hibernate.
Are you recommend to use only hibernate or hibernate with spring ?
Here is brief view for my system,
Client-side: Flex 3.0 With Cairngorm architecture.[BlazeDS]
Server-side: Java[Service --> Domain --> Implementation] Layer < -- > Spring JDBC(Here I am suggesting you to replace Hibernate!)
In last project we were using Hibernate.
