Lock UI would freeze all the windows / tabs at their current size so they couldn't be erroneously / accidentally clicked and dragged off (undocked) or resized etc. all it takes is one resize / move / undock to blow the whole setup which can take quite a long while to reset to the way it was setup
Currently I employ a backup scheme of setting up AA and then backing up the different config / settings files within the same folder(s) (once)
"Default Edit View.xml" copied to "Default Edit View.xm_"
"audition_settings.xml" copied to "audition_settings.xm_"
Thanks for the info
the reason I though ot this is;
a> because last year I had a mouse go bad and it totally screwed up everything on the screen including the task bar and my AA setup and totally wasted 4 hours straightening everything out. That's when I went looking for the files and duplicated them,
b> i just let my brain run wild at times and thoughts like this just pop up
