We have created a desktop application using adobe AIR which has various tools and functionalities.
When we try to play FLV files using a player inside the application, the playback is not smooth and it stutters badly.
We have noticed that the processor usage is reaching above 30%. In a slower machine it is more visible.
However, when we play these FLVs on a standalone player, the processor usage is around 5%.
We have tried various compression options but with no results.
Did anycome come across the same issue. Is there a problem with AIR handling FLV playback?
BTW, The FLV files are played from a local folder.
I have an AIR app that utilizes FLV playback heavily with no issues. I will mention that my app originally was chromeless and did see significant processor usage spiking with that. Bearing that in mind I can't help wondering if your app is chromeless.
My applicatin is a full screen application. (Hope that is what you meant by chromeless)
