If I pass an image to a Shader for use with Graphics.beginShaderFill() does the Shader process the entire bitmap image passed to it or does it only process the drawn area? In other words, if I pass a 640x480 bitmap image to the Shader and I draw a 10x10 rectangle will 307200 or 100 pixels be processed?
We're talking AS3 here obviously.
To answer my own question, the entire image is processed regardless of the area that is actually being drawn to the graphics object. I really hope this is a bug and not another thing that can be added to FP10's "completely useless feature" list.
