Why do you say the component kit is not working for you?
I installed the component with the extension kit manager CS4 correctly, but...
when I go into "Commands", the option "Convert Symbol to Flex Component" does not appear.Have some idea of what may be happening? Thanks by reply.
Do you have a non-English OS?
I'm running Windows Vista (64bit) Dutch, and the Flex Component Kit got installed in the wrong place (because of the different locale).
Extensions should be installed in "/en/Configuration" but instead got placed in "nl/Configuration" and Flash CS4 doesn't pick them up.
So if you're running a non English OS, you'll have to manually move the files to the proper location.
On Win Vista that is:
Where [USER] is the current logged in username and [LOCALE] is your OS language (e.g. "nl" or "fr").
Once you found the location, copy all the content (several folders) to the "en" folder.
Note that "AppData" is a hidden folder.
Whoo yeah! Thanks a lot Muzak.
I got the CS4 KIT in Adobe Labs and follow your steps. Finally it works.
Oh , I came across the same question , but no way worked to solved the problem , I 'll try this way , may it works . smiling ,
for Win XP users: i find the folders,
Copy all files & folder from:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\[OS language]\Configuration\
(OS language = "nl", "fr"...)
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrateur\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS4\en\Configuration\
i hope it help the XP users.
I want to know if that could be a problem for mac as well. Because i have installed the flex component kits for flash cs3 on my flash cs4 i have seen the menu but when i import the swc to flex i dont see it there which ever way i try to import it.
i get errors if i type the component name in the project.
can anyone help me please.
