    video player skin to roll over

    vscomm

      HI,

      I've done a lot of searches but still cannot how to make the video control bar in a move appear and disappear when moused over or rolled over.

      Any pointers?

      I have cs4 flash

      thanks, charles

          enable the skinAutoHide property of your flvplayback component.  for example, if its instance name is flv:

          flv.skinAutoHide=true;

            Hi kglad,

            thanks for the response. It's been so long since i've used flash.

            I've added the line flv.skinAutoHide=true  to the action properties but it doesn't change anything when i publish - the skin doesn't auto hide.

            i'm doing something wrong. i just right click on the frame > scroll to "actions" and then I find the properties for flvplayback > doubleclick on skinAutoHide and script pops into the window "not_set_yet.skinAutoHide" then I just overwrite that with flv.skinAutoHide=true    and then i test movie and the auto hide does not work.

            thanks for the input!

              remove whatever you did.

              click on an empty part of the stage and then click on your flvplayback component.  in the properties panel enter an instance name:  flv

              click on an empty part of the stage and in the actions panel copy and paste:

              flv.skinAutoHide=true;

              retest

                edit: i could solve tat: seems the video hadn't been found due to a wrong path, that stopped playback  - and obvioulsy autohide too.

                thanks anyway for the directions!

                hey kglad (and others),

                that helped another flash noob a lot, except:

                i managed to hide the skin until the first mouseover/hover, but it won't hide again on mouseout.

                i use cs4, my movie is for AS 3.0, my skin is "SkinOverPlay.swf".

                what else might be to take care of?

                thanks in advance!
