Double click the file and it'll open up in a window. There's a button for audio and button for video. Drag the audio icon into the timeline and you'll have only audio.
'Double click the file'
Double click exactly -where-? In the Project window at top left?
Yes, in the Project Panel.
I thought that it was Rt-click and then Get Audio, or Get Video, but that was probably in a previous version. Go with Josh's suggestion, as he's more up on CS4, than I am. Regardless, it's from the Project Panel.
You can do either actually......
Good to know. Thanks. Sometimes I get confused on what works in which version. Glad that I do not have to deal with Avid and FCP in the course of the day. I still try to do things in AE, that I do int PrPro, and still get lost with the little differences in the GUI.
PS glad that 4.1 is looking good for you! Hope the joy continues.
I insert both video and audio onto the end of my sequence, left click on the video to highlight it, click on Clip in the top banner & unlink. Then simply delete the unlinked video and then slide the remaining audio file to the location I want.
Alt-Click on any part of the clip ( Audio or Video) if in the Timeline. This unlinks and selects the part.
just press alt+left click at audio or video and drag it..
