Welcome to the forums.
Please explain your understanding of widescreen SD. Perhaps therein lies your problem. With details we will see.
In addition to Eddie's question, I would also ask "Why not?" What happens when you try? What goes wrong?
Woke up this morning....whispered to the computer that all was going to be OK, booted it up, and it captured the SD widescreen just fine. It seems to just be one of those ineffable mysteries of life.
But seriously, somehow Premiere must have been temporarily confused since the tape switched from hi definition to standard definition footage mid-tape. It seems that it simply needed a computer re-boot.
Ah, the "computer whisperer... "
Glad that things are working. Maybe I'll pay you to whisper to MY computer, when it develops an attitude or goes wonky for no apparent reason.
Please if you don't mind I like to ask for your help, I am having the same problem capturing SD in Premiere CS4, so if you have the time can you kindly capture a snapshot of your settings and send to me, maybe that could help enough to solving mine
