4. Re: Help.....CS4 Problem with cropping and marquee tool
Ricky-T May 30, 2009 3:22 PM (in response to captain1944)Do you mean like trying to select something accuratly using the marquee tools? If so, i have this problem too. It's not a big deal, i find that zooming in alot helps, but yes, it is annying. the way CS4 selects things is definatly different to any version before, and unfortinatly, seems less accurate for some reason.

6. Re: Help.....CS4 Problem with cropping and marquee tool
Ricky-T May 30, 2009 5:33 PM (in response to captain1944)I think all previous versions were supiror, really.
If the problem is easy to change to make its accuracy more like the older versions, it would be great if it was relesaed in a patch. However, seeing as the whole system seems to rely on 3D acceleration to some extent, this may not be possible. I think PS now sees a canvas more like 1 polygon in 3d graphics, that can be painted directly on to texture it, just like PS can actually allow for now aswell, in the proper sense, and also how it allows for rotation of the actual pixels. This would undoubtably mean that the very fine editing being pixel perfect in every way would be harder to program/create the ability for. Thus, fixing this error may simly be something that need ironing out in CS5 perhaps.

7. Re: Help.....CS4 Problem with cropping and marquee tool
John Joslin May 30, 2009 9:56 PM (in response to captain1944)Three possible remedies so far not considered are:
Try with a normal (non-wireless) mouse.
Update your video card drivers.
Turn off OpenGL in preferences.

8. Re: Help.....CS4 Problem with cropping and marquee tool
Ricky-T May 31, 2009 6:11 AM (in response to John Joslin)The first one definatly doesnt make any difference....at least for me, nor the second one. It simply is a case of it not selecting in the area told supposedly told too. Turning off Open GL actually sounds like it could solve the problem, but i don't really want to have to do that just to select something, then turn it back on to roatate the canvas for example. Good suggestions though, thank you
