I've made a safety copy of a CS3 project in another hard drive. Everything was copied across using Windows Explorer. However, when opening this version of the project the footage loads as 29.97fps rather than 25fps. If I import a clip from the original folder it imports correctly as 25fps.
I must say I find this a bit strange. Nothing could have be altered during the copying process.
Interestingly, over time, the clips do seem to eventually convert from 29.97 to 25fps. I often make back up copies of projects but this is the first time I've experienced this apparent problem.
I should mention this is one of my first HD projects (shot on Sony Z1) so there may be issues I'm unaware of.
Thanks for your thoughts
The first thing that I would do is create a new Project with the Presets that you think should be used, based on what was setup, when you did the "safety copy." Then, Import your copy of your Project into that. What happens to the footage? Remember, when you Import a Project into another, you'll need to open the Bins and Dbl-click on the Timeline to get it to show.
You might also want to look at Interpret Footage and re-setting the FPS.
Good luck, and let us know how this goes,
Given the use of HDV media and that the problem corrects itself over time, I'm going to guess your looking at an Indexing issue. Wait till that is done for all clips, and see if they're correct.
