I am very interested in evaluating Catalyst, now that a public version is available.
One question I had was to see if there was a way to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in Catalyst before actually handing over the UI to the developers? Like, is there a way to export a Catalyst project into a SWF or some other format that an end user can test with (without requiring catalyst for the end user)?
Currently, we use Powerpoint to design the UI, perform user-testing, and then create a Flex Project using the screen interactions setup in Powerpoint.
See File > Publish allows you to export the project to a stand-alone SWF file. Is that what you're looking for?
As Adam suggested, the answer is "yes". You can certainly use Flash Catalyst to publish a SWF file that you can upload to a web server for other to see and test.
Yes, that is what I was looking for. I just need to test it out and see if the end user can use the SWF interactively - meaning push on buttons/links, etc.
