I have three PC's running XP Pro SP3, with Adobe Reader 9.1.
On one of these systems, pdf files can be loaded, but when I click on pdf links in web pages, the browser crashes.
If someone could please help me by defining what further information might be helpful in troubleshooting this, I'd be most appreciative. A definite clue is probably provided by this comment in application event viewer:
Faulting application iexplore.exe version 8.0.6001.18702 faulting module acrord32.dll, version 188.8.131.52, fault address 0x000d51b6
Thanks so much for any help!
Have you tried to fix the installation? (The command can be found under the help menu). IE 8 is newer than Reader, you might have to wait for an update.
I actually backed out Adobe 9 and installed Adobe 8 and that resolved my issue of IE crashing when trying to open an Adobe file.
I tried everything before doing this. From backing out IE 8 to 7 and just reinstalling Adobe 9 and continued to have the same problem.
