1. Re: 360 Panorama in CS4
BedtymeBear Jun 3, 2009 9:48 PM (in response to William LaMartin)You have to have Extended to use the 3D features, and the 360 Panorama is 3D. So, if you don't have Extended, you're sort of out of luck.
If you just want to try it out, you could deactivate (Help > Deactivate) Photoshop, then restart it and tell it to run as a trial. (Trials are always Extended for some reason.) I think you can upgrade from regular Photoshop to Extended for the price difference; just call Adobe to ask.
If you do have Extended, then check out "Create 360-degree panoramas" in the Help.

John Joslin Jun 3, 2009 10:09 PM (in response to William LaMartin)I don't do 360° panoramas myself but I have read in these forums that 3rd party software does a better and easier job than Photoshop.

4. Re: 360 Panorama in CS4
SG... Jun 3, 2009 11:47 PM (in response to William LaMartin)Hi,
The comparison table is calling out creating a photomerged file for use in 360 degree panos. In File> Automate> Photomerge... there is a new layout 'Spherical'.
The Extended version with 3D features adds a way to preview the merged file, and correct the nadir and zenith.

5. Re: 360 Panorama in CS4
William LaMartin Jun 4, 2009 7:58 AM (in response to William LaMartin)Thanks everyone who answered my question. I can produce fairly decent 360 panoramas with Photoshop CS4 using the photomerge with either the cylindrical or spherical projections. It seems sometimes one works better than the other. Then about half the time I can crop the resulting image so that when pieced together in my panoramic viewer the join seam is not noticeable.
I have Adobe CS4 Design Standard, and I see no easy way to get PhotoshopCS4 extended other than to wait for the new version of the Creative Suite and see what option there is to move from Design Standard to Design Premium.
