This should be simple but I can't figure what I am doing wrong. My project has a black background. All my layers are text with effects. When I create a new layer, solid, drop in a background image and put it on the bottom of the layers everything is black. And I can't see any of the other layers now.
If you create a solid and place it above your image in the timeline, then the solid will obscure your image.
A solid is a plain color layer. What was it that you wanted to achieve with it?
I'm not sure what you are exactly doing. A solid below any of your layers should not affect their visibility. Even blending modes should not ahve such an effect. Can you provide screenshots (insert them with the camera icon, not as attachments)?
I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was creating a new solid layer then dropping the image on that layer. I have a shape in the background that has rounded corners to frame the animation. Now I just dragged the image on the stage and it worked.
