Hi I have just downloaded Cat and started tutorial from Ryan Stewart at http://blog.digitalbackcountry.com/2009/01/getting-started-with-flash-catalyst-tutorial/ and am not able to access controls as explained. Also when you inport Photoshop psd in the options panal there is no Project type function. could any one please explain Thanks Nanomorph

The tutorial on Ryan's site is from an earlier version of Catalyst so the user interface has changed slightly.

Some new tutorials that match the beta release can be found here:

          http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flashcatalyst/tutorials/

You can still follow the tutorial with the following change. Instead of using the "auto effects for new transitions" menu option, instead click the "smooth" button in the timeline for EACH transitions that you want smoothly animated. In an earlier version of Catalyst all transitions where smoothed all the time during every edit. This produced a lot of code and caused performance issues, so now you tell Catalyst when you want a transition smoothed. You will notice in Ryan's tutorial that the timeline also has green buttons to control the auto smoothing in the timeline. These have been removed.

We have received a lot of feedback that users want the following features regarding timeline smoothing, so we are certainly considering these:

          * visually indicating whether a transition is smooth in the transitions list

          * providing a way to smooth multiple transitions at a time

          * providing options to control how a transition is smoothed
