    Problem with Dreamweaver Templates

    elphiethesane
I use Dreamweaver and Contribute for work, and I've recently updated a template for a site. I tried to update the pages, but when I try applying the template to a page that uses the old one, no matter what I do it deletes all the text on that page and replaces it with what I have in the template (at one point that was some sample text, but now it's nothing at all). Same in Contribute. Is that just something it does, or have I done something wrong? Please help as soon as possible, this is actually quite urgent.

Please do the following - upload BOTH templates to the site somewhere, and
          post a link to each.

Heh, I meant to do that... Took me awhile to find those old ones, though...

            Without Ads:
            Old New

            With Ads:
            Old New

Another question, just while I'm at it... Every time one of the pages using this code (the pages aren't linked to the template properly, though) is edited in Contribute, the navigation I added gets messed up (it reverts back to the default)... Is it a problem with the code, or is it that the pages don't link properly? Just a general idea on this one will do... I just need to know where to start. :D

Can you summarize for us what we should look for in these 4 links, please?

Well, here's a list of the changes I made... I hope it helps, I don't really know what the problem is...

-I got rid of some unnecessary editable regions, namely the one's called LeaderboardAd, Main Menu, SkyscraperAd, and Bio.
-I added a menu from this site to the Main Menu section.
-I got rid of a flash thing that wasn't working and replaced it with an internal Ad and scrolling "Back to Top" link.
-Only in the "With Ads" template, I added Ad rotating scripts to the sections called LeaderboardAd, SkyscraperAd, and Bio.

But explain to me please what the question is, and how I should view those 4
                  links you gave.

My problem is in the first post, I don't know how to explain it any other way...

                      Level 7
Murray, i have a feeling elphiethesane has the editable regions mixed up...
meaning, the template's editable regions are not coinciding with the those
on the pages generated by the previous template.

                      Also, other problems... <shrug>

elphiethesane, why don't you try saving - the original template, as a copy,
for back up purposes - and then make the changes on the original (un backed
up copy) and see what happens?
