The one hint I got was that CS5 may well be 64 bit only. (I hope it is.)
At the end of the survey you are asked for additional comments.
I hope you have told them that priorities should be:
3. Better error reporting
and at the end ot the list
x. Metadata and other unimportant features or speech recognition.
I actually put stability down the borrom, as I haven't had any issues with it. I put faster performance at the top.
Where did you all do the survey? I got something from Adobe, but it was all print design related...
Well, when you are mainly editing DV, as I think you are, I can understand that. But with the mulitude of formats supported now, HDV, XDCAM-EX, AVCHD, DVCPRO-HD, Red, there is a definite need for improving stability especially when using multiple formats in projects, a scenario that is further complicated by the various resolutions and frame rates. That was my reason to put it on top.
Alright, so let's be honest.....how many of you selected "AVC Intra" under "Which formats do you use?"...........?
Okay, good, now keep your hands up for a second....
Those of you who actually DO currently use AVC Intra, keep your hands up, everyone else put your hands down.
Whoa, only two of you? Hrm, so let me guess....the rest of you would LIKE to see the format supported, and you figured you'd just stuff the ballot box, am I right?
Okay, just checking.
I thought about going that route. I would like to have checked AVC-I and RED because I think they are both important professional formats that Premiere needs to work extremely well with, but in the end I checked off only DV.
I only selected DV, HDV, XDCAM-EX and XDCAM-HD.
Hey, the only formats that I expressed an interest in were YouTube videos that I got from the Internet, and the footage from my iPhone's camera... oh, and the occasional Flip camera footage too.
Seriously, I wonder about the metadata scripting. Would be interesting to see a printout of the survey, when done. Going back some years, the ASMP did several similar surveys on how Photosohp was used, and what features most photographers (still) wanted. The raw survey data was always published and made for some interesting, albeit strange, reading.
I cannot wait until they offer the ability to take narration from a headset/mic and convert that into Titles. "Son of a ____! Program crashed again." Then you'd have to go in and remove all those Titles.
