I'm developing quite a few custom components for my FLEX app that are data dependent, so naturally I would like to let the user know that something is going on while the data is being loaded (to prevent them from going stir-crazy and clicking all over the place).
I would like to show a loading animation in each component. How would I go about that?
My initial thoughts on this are:
Create custom component with loading animation displayed by default.
Hide loading animation when creationComplete is fired.
I have seen some very good implementations of this at Ancestry.com (sorry, I'm not able to find a good URL without you needing to be a member, but I was able to take snapshot of one item loading), and was wondering what the best way to go about this is.
