I downloaded a script from the "exchange" web site and it downloaded as an ".exe" file.
I am new to all this. As it is not a java or vb script, how do I get it to work. When I run the exe file, I get ActiveX error 429.
WindowXP system. InDesign CS4.
The script is for replacing styles.
Any assisstance is appreciated.
Try to put it into Scripts Panel folder and run it from Scripts panel.
Error 429 normally means "Can't create object". You might have another version of InDesign than the program (exe) is expecting. If the script is referring directly to let's say CS3, you would probably get this kind of error.
In this case the script should be run from Scripts Panel > Version 4.0 Scripts folder.
