1. Re: Editor User magement permissions way too limited
cristinel@adobe Jun 25, 2009 8:37 AM (in response to dhoviss)Hi Daniel,
I know we are following this on the email, but wanted to share some of the thoughts for everyone else reading the discussion.
The current permission structure is based on the assumption that we have three major roles involved in small website maintenance:
- web developer: sets-up the site and does testing on the editing experience
- publisher: assimilated with a small business owner or a marketing manager that needs to validate content and assign editors
- editor: members of a department that need to author content which later needs to be validated by a marketing manager
What we know for sure that is missing here is a way to specify which user can edit which section of a website and we are looking into that. Anything more than, like specific permission per actions, are usually needed in larger companies with larger editorial teams which usually use more complex CMS systems.
Regards,
Cristinel

dhoviss Jun 25, 2009 8:52 AM (in response to cristinel@adobe)The only thing I really need is an option to allow the editor to publish, without moderation.

cristinel@adobe Jun 26, 2009 3:44 AM (in response to dhoviss)Hi Daniel,
That is good to know. I am curios if you need that because you think publishers should not be able to invite users or because the publishing workflow by itself is too long and you want users to publish directly on Save?
Thank you,
Cristinel
