    Error: [strict] Ignoring policy file

    jherreso

      I have a Flex app targeted for flashplayer 10 hosted in a server (server1). The app uses a web service that is hosted in a diferent server (server2).

      I placed this crossdomain file in the root folder of the webserver in server2:

      <?xml version="1.0"?>
      <cross-domain-policy>
          <allow-access-from domain="server1" />
      </cross-domain-policy>

      But when I run/debug the application I get the following error:

      Error: [strict] Ignoring policy file at http://server2/crossdomain.xml due to incorrect syntax.  See http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files to fix this problem.

      *** Security Sandbox Violation ***
      Connection to http://server2/cgi-bin/horgie/reg.cgi?username=jorge&identity=eb99ff949cdce0b3befa71ff16c84b512092730bdb5c87c180377f7ec0b7f2d0 halted - not permitted from http://server1/~jorgeh/horgie/cols.swf

      I tried to read the document at http://www.adobe.com/go/strict_policy_files but I didn't understand it.

      Any ideas on what's wrong with crossdomain file?
