Your image is still queued; attachments take several hours to be available. (I've no idea why.)
In the meantime... I gather your main button shape has a curved edge to it. If you select it, what Edge property does it have in the Properties Inspector? (Anti-Alias, Hard, or Feather?) If it's Hard, change it to Anti-Alias. If it's already Anti-Alias, then, um, never mind!
Thanks for the reply pixlor.
Yes, the icons are circles. The edge property is set to anti alias. I have a 1px stroke on the icons but they still look jagged without the stroke.
If you could take a look at the png when it becomes available that would be nice
Your buttons are quite small.
To make your buttons smoother:
- Use stroke category - felt tip - thin.
- Also use the photoshop live effects - stroke option,
- i suggest that you make them bigger (if you can) or stroke size bigger, 2px for example and add edge softness.
I took your .png, doubled its size (Modify>Transform> Numeric Transform and Scaled it by 200%), exported it as a 24-bit .png, brought it back in and reduced it to 50%,back to its original size.
Since the shapes were vector based, they were smoother at the larger size, prior to export/opening/reduction.
If you do this, you should probably put your icons on a larger black background, so there are more black pixels to anti-alias against and work with on the scaling steps.
Thanks Pixlar thats a great help and thankyou Panos
Yes they are a tad on the small side... I might make them bigger but just wanted to know if I could make them smoother at that size.
I'm actually exporting them as transparent png's and was testing them on different backgrounds.
It's a bit of a messy way of doing it isn't it? but now I know how to do it... thankyou
