I was using Adobe Acrobat reader just fine up until installing the newest 9.1 version. After doing so whenever I try to click a pdf file on my desktop to open, I get this message "Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view this file. Would you like to install Adbove Acrobat Reader now?". I've tried clicking yes and it reinstalls Adobe Acrobat 7 but even when it does that it the next time i click a PDF file to open it it gives me the same installation message.
If I open Adobe Acrobat reader I can open PDF files through the File -> Open command and that works but I really need it to be able to open files just by click on them. Anyone have any idea?
It appears you have both Adobe Acrobat and and Adobe Reader on your computer. Adobe doesn't support this configuration since it causes many problems, including the one you are experiencing. Remove Acrobat and/or Reader and then re-install one you left on the computer. You can of course remove both and purchase Acrobat Pro or Standard 9.1.
