    disable text entry field

    Level 7
      I have a few radio buttons in a form, one of which is "other"

      If "other" is selected I would like a text field to become active, and if
      not it is inactive.

      Is this something that is possible.

      Many thanks

      Dave

              Just one more thing, will this work on all browsers, or does this need
              javascript enabled or something like that?

                It depends on javascript, and is cross-browser compliant.

                      I have something similar to this. A list/menu:

                      <select name="question" class="style2" id="message" >
                      <option selected="selected">Please select...</option>
                      <option value="Catalogue">Catalogue</option>
                      <option value="Customer care information">Customer care information</option>
                      <option value="Estimate">Estimate Number*</option>
                      <option value="Other">Other</option>
                      </select>

                      Along with a textfield name=estimate.

                      I would like the estimate textfield to be disabled unless Estimate is selected from the list.

                      Many thanks
