Can someone please explain to me, how to get AnimateFilter working the way I want. The problem I'm having is that, when SimpleMotionPath reaches it's end value, filter value goes back to default (in my case I'm animating drop shadow and distance goes back to 0 - starting value). I want to keep the end value of filter as long as the mouse is over an image (event that triggers filter animation is ROLL_OVER). Any help would be much appreciated.
Currently the AnimateFilter effect does not provide an option for the filter to remain applied once the animation is complete. At the start of the effect a filter is applied, at the end it's removed. I'll file an enhancement request, as your use case is valid, and we should support a means of optionally persisting filters once an animation is complete (though not sure yet of the actual semantics).
Other than that, perhaps you can just keep a persistent drop shadow filter applied, give it an id, and use a generic Animate effect to animate its 'distance' directly...?
Thank you. I'll probably do as you suggested.
