Convert to DV AVI Type 2
MPG is a delivery format, not designed for editing... at least the version for SD (Standard Definition)
John has the real answer. Most NLE's have an issue with MPEG editing, and OOS is often the issue.
Now, one can correct OOS. Constant is easy, and even drifting sync is doable. If there is a compelling reason to not use John's suggestion, let us know, and we'll give you the steps to correcting OOS.
Thanks for replying. I didn't realize that MPG was mainly used for delivery. The final product will be streamed and in WMV format. What I did was convert to that format and started editing. Now I'll convert to the DV AVI format and see how it goes.
The DV-AVI Type II conversion should take care of the OOS issues. I'd set the Audio conversion to 48KHz 16-bit, if your conversion software allows it. PrPro is build around editing that format with the DV CODEC.
The WMV aspect can be handled in your Export. I'd stay away from it for any intermediate work and use it only for your delivery format.
PS Should you encounter OOS issues, this ARTICLE might give you some tips on correcting those. While it was written for PE, it's actually easier to do in PrPro.
