1. Re: Add-in option does not show anywhere in Outlook
mcacbat Jun 25, 2009 10:41 AM (in response to liquidguru2)I'm sorry you're having trouble. Here is our checklist of questions for you:
• Was the installation ok? Was there any error dialog etc?
• There are there are 7 .dll files in the installation folder (default- C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat.com Addin for Microsoft Outlook)?
• Kindly check that the Addin is enabled in Outlook by going to Tools -> Trust Center -> Addins. Is the Addin(‘Acrobat.com Addin for Microsoft Outlook’) listed in the dialog? Under which title(‘Active App Addins’)?
• Can you see the ‘Acrobat.com’ toolbar in the compose (new mail) window?
• Are you able to sign in to your Acrobat.com account?
• Are you able to upload files to Acrobat.com account?Let us know!
Thanks,
Michelle

liquidguru2 Jun 25, 2009 11:31 AM (in response to mcacbat)Many thanks for your reply.
To answer your questions-
1. The installation went smoothly, no error dialogs at all.
2. There are 10 files in the correct installation directory:
AcrobatDotComAddin.InstallState
AcrobatDotComAddin.dll
AcrobatShareLib.DLL
eula.rtf
favicon.ico
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word.dll
stdole.dll
Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.dll
Microsoft.Vbe.Interop.dll
office.dll
3. Checked, and as stated before, the Addin does not appera anywhere, under any title, in any section
4. The 'Acrobat.com' toolbar does not exist in the compose window
5. Yes
6. Yes
It seems that Outlook does does not see the Addin.

Kaj

3. Re: Add-in option does not show anywhere in Outlook
Aditya Vaish Jun 27, 2009 4:05 AM (in response to liquidguru2)Hi Kaj
Another thing to check would be whether there is the registry entry for the addin. Follow these steps:
- Run 'regedit'
- Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
- See if there is a subkey under it by the name - AcrobatDotComAddin.Connect
- If yes, ensure that the 'LoadBehavior' value for the key is 3.
In case there is no entry by that name, the addin is not installed properly.
Two possible ways to try again:
- Exit all apps, unistall the addin(from control panel), reinstall the addin, start outlook.
- In case it still does not appear(after trying the above step) and you are confident of playing with the registry, you can also try adding the following entry in the registry:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\AcrobatDotComAddin.Connect]
"Description"="Acrobat.com Add-in for Microsoft Outlook Beta"
"LoadBehavior"=dword:00000003
"FriendlyName"="Acrobat.com Add-in for Microsoft Outlook Beta"
Save the above text to a file(test.reg)and then double click it. This would help only if the addin is installed and you can see the files in the appropriate folder.

Aditya Vaish Jul 1, 2009 2:14 AM (in response to liquidguru2)Hi Kaj
Now that is quite wiered. This means that the Add-in is properly installed. Are you doubly sure that there is no Acrobat.com ribbon item in the new mail(compose) window?
Are you using any costomized Outlook setup?
