I've been working on a file in Illustrator, and now suddenly there's something wrong with the strokes on one layer. No matter what stroke style, weight or color is defined, there's a black 1pt stroke as well. (even if no stroke is applied) This also shows through objects above. What is going on?
I didn't type any keyboard commands, and there are no effects applied.
I've attached a screenshot that shows that the selected stroke has no stroke or fill, but you can still see it. You can also see how strokes (and only strokes) show through objects above.
I'm sure there's a simple solution, but I couldn't find one looking around. (Not for this stroke problem, at least)
Look in the Appearance Panel and see if there is a stroke applied at the Group level or Layer level. It also look as though you have a mixture of 100% black and Rich blacks going on.
Just to clarify in case ya don't know - click on the little circle on the layer panel on the right side of the layer that's effected, then look in your appearance panel to see what attributes are applied at the layer level.
Might look like this:
[ Larry, you're about to get your second meatball! Congrats! ]
Thank you. That was the issue, not sure how I applied the stroke on the layer.
(the mixture of blacks is for layout purposes, the final color scheme hasn't been provided yet)
