    writebytes slow!

We are building an application that requires us to load and save out a lot of files - over 60 usually. These are externally created swfs and other files.
When writing out the bytearrays for this number of files the Air app seems surprisingly slow. Taking several seconds through to nearly minutes to write out approx 60 files.
      Has anyone else noticed this?
Also, we're packaging the files into a zip file (stored not compressed again for speed). Is there a way of copying over the zip contents - ie the individual files - to another folder without having to load in the files individually into flash then back out again? I know in Air you can duplicate files without loading them so how about the contents of a zip??
