    Color and opacity

    CVES1 Level 1

I'm hoping I can articulate this properly, as color theory, etc. is really not my thing.

Using IDCS4 printing to a Xerox color copier (not negotiable in the scenario)

I've got a graphic, RGB 110-6-24. I need to print a lighter version of that along with the 100% version on the same page. I have simply taken the opacity down to 40% in ID, but when I print it, it really doesn't look that good, it doesn't look like the same color (obviously, it's not.... it's lighter). I've looked at the Kuler window and there is nothing that will do shades of a color. Is there a way to create a shade of a color without just changing the opacity? Perhaps creating a whole new color?

      thanks.
