1. Re: Button to stay in the "hit" state
Ned Murphy Jun 26, 2009 9:03 AM (in response to zm15)If you want a button to maintain its hit state, you have to create that buton as a movieclip. Button symbol states cannot be controlled, but you can do whatever you please with a movieclip and the code to control it.

2. Re: Button to stay in the "hit" state
zm15 Jun 26, 2009 9:21 AM (in response to Ned Murphy)gotcha, changed it to a MC, i'm following the other thread about this too, so hopefully can piece this together. However i am running into the problem of it going underneath the other buttons now that it's a mc. I changed it's instance name to btn7, from your fix that you sent over earlier, but it doesn't appear to effect the mc button on top.

Ned Murphy Jun 26, 2009 9:27 AM (in response to zm15)I'm confused... chuckling and confused. I'm following a few posts that involve using movieclips as buttons and have to look around to see if what you just said makes more sense... I may not find it though.

zm15 Jun 26, 2009 9:56 AM (in response to Ned Murphy)i think i'm getting somewhere, in the main stage i have the mc of the top area (which used to be a button)
i inserted the code, and now am getting an error, which i think it's syntax, i've tried several different things with no luck. Screen shot is attached.

zm15 Jun 26, 2009 1:21 PM (in response to zm15)I think i've gotten over my head with this one! Just need to get the pull down to stay when clicked on until the mouse is moved away from the area or clicked again.
