I have set a light's POI to a null's position property ( by dragging light's 'expression pick whip' icon );
however, the null is child of another layer, null_parent;
so, since the null is in the null_parent's coordinate space, the null's position can be (0,0,0) even though the null_parent is at (100,100,100), and thus the null is likewise at world position (100,100,100);
but the light points to world position (0,0,0);
any thoughts on how to get the light to use the null as POI even while the null is a child of null_parent??
Mylenium, thanks for responding;
I am not quite ready to begin writing expressions with AE yet, as my learning curve is very large;
can these steps be accomplished from the application interface, as is the case for setting the light's POI by dragging the pick whip icon;
thanks for your time;
No, sorry. You'll have to bite the bullet on that one.
