Problems with Titler, in either PE, or PrPro, are very often associated with a corrupt font. The Titler is very sensitive to bad fonts, even when other Adobe programs work fine, unless you try to use that particular font.
I like a program, Extensis Font Doctor, to repair most corrupted fonts. The ones that it cannot repair, will be deleted at the user's direction. Not only will it repair installed fonts (in the OS), but it will survey all fonts on your system. On my workstation, I have over 11,000 stored, with a few hundred installed at any one time.
A freeware program, FontFrenzy, is supposed to do a good job too, but I have never used it.
If your fonts get a clean bill of health, then look at this ARTICLE on troubleshooting crashes, etc.
Thank you, I will try...
Good luck and please report back.
You don't by chance have SunMicro System's OpenOffice with the Deja Vu font, do you? It's been known to cause similar problems in PrPro. Just check to see if you have Deja Vu installed, and uninstall it, as a test.
