I remember in earlier versions of Premiere, the MainConcept MPEG plugin was highly regarded (although expensive). Is this still so? I noticed MainConcept slashed the price down to $99 now for the basic version. Also noticed a note on the MainConcept site that smart-rendering is not available for CS4.
How much better is the plugin compared to Premiere's own exports? Does it improve all export settings or do you only get the performance gain if you export via the MainConcept option?
The only advantage would be smart rendering, but alas not available for CS4 yet.
Premiere already uses Mainconcept for export.
So exporting through CS4's options would probably yield the same result as MainConcept's "Advanced Export" options?
Premiere used MainConcept as well in 2.0 and CS3 if I remember correctly, so I don't think CS4 recently included the MainConcept plugin. It seems to me that Premiere just includes a more basic version than if you bought the plugin separately - please correct if I'm wrong.
I believe the primary purpose of the plug-in is to add editing capabilities, not export capabilities.
