You all know that importing and editing a dvd, preferably one authored with Encore, has been possible since version 4.1 came out but did you know that the same holds true for Blu-ray discs?
I carried out a lttle experiment involving a 25 GB BD-R and was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did it import without a hitch but it also allowed me to use dynamic linking between Premiere, After Effects and Encore during the editing session.
Needless to say, I used the Blu-ray drive throughout.
A potential big time-saver for some folks I guess.
So, all Blu-ray users out there, I suggest you give it a shot and post back.
Thank you for reporting on this. Just a question - was your BD authored in Encore too? As that has worked for DVD's authored in En, I wonder if the BD authoring has any pitfalls, due to other authoring schemes. Just curious.
"...was your BD authored in Encore too?"
Yes it was. I will author a BD-RE disc in Nero and see if I can accomplish the same feat.
So stay tuned.
